Ohio Valley University has added to its list of outstanding leadership and teaching excellence with the recent hiring of Rebecca Clark.

Clark comes to Ohio Valley University from Massachusetts, where she served as an associate professor of human services, civic engagement faculty fellow, and assistant director of civic engagement at Bristol Community College in Fall River.

In her new role at OVU, Clark will provide leadership to plan, organize and manage all of the activities related to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. Those duties include institutional data collection; professional development, education and training for faculty and staff; assisting with the university’s strategic plan; continuous improvement planning; and institutional compliance. In addition to these duties she will also support the campus student life office and serve as a faculty member. Clark will report to both Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. C. Joy Jones and Executive Vice President Jeff Dimick.

She brings over 15 years of higher education experience to Ohio Valley University. Prior to her work at Bristol Community College, she served as an online instructor for the Department of Social Work and Sociology at Lipscomb University and was a field faculty representative for the West Virginia University School of Social Work.

Clark also served Ohio Valley University in the past as an assistant professor of behavioral sciences and as an online instructor for the College of Behavioral Sciences.

“We are thrilled to have Becky return as a member of the OVU family,” says OVU Executive Vice President Jeffrey Dimick. “Her skill sets perfectly align with current needs we have on campus. She is also familiar with our university, our employees and our mission. That means that she can hit the ground running and make an immediate positive impact in several areas.”

“One of her initial key projects is to assist our faculty and staff in preparing for an onsite visit by the Higher Learning Commission in the spring of 2017,” Dimick notes. “This initiative will enable her to re-familiarize herself with the campus and our long-time OVU employees, while getting to know newer faculty and staff members and our current policies and procedures.”

Clark holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Harding University and a Master of Social Work from West Virginia University.
